Delivered right here on the Central Coast, Microsoft Excel for Business in a Day provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to create and manage Microsoft Excel workbooks. This short course covers everything from creating a new workbook, adding data, editing data and working with formulas, to printing and charting for presentations.

Who is the course for?

This course is for students who have little or no experience in using Microsoft Excel but would like to learn the basics for business use.

Delivery Mode

Face-to-face delivery.

Learning Outcomes

Students will learn how to:

  • Create and work with a new workbook.
  • Open and navigate within workbooks and worksheets.
  • Understand, create and work with formulas and functions used to perform calculations.
  • Copy and paste data.
  • Use formula cell referencing and font formatting techniques.
  • Align the contents of cells in a number of ways.
  • Format rows and columns in a worksheet.
  • Create effective charts.

This course is being offered under the Tech Savvy Small Business Program. This funding has been designed for small business owners and employees of small businesses who want to better understand how to use the latest technology to improve their business operations. Entry Requirements

Students must be able to provide a valid ABN for their own business or the business they are employed by, have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), turned 16 or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course. What to Bring to Class

The College will provide a computer for you to use during the workshop running Windows 10 and Microsoft Excel 2016. Paper and pen for Notetaking. All other course resources will be provided for you. Morning tea and lunch will also be provided.
